Sketchbook 13: Week of September 21, 2026
The past few weeks I’ve been thinking about physical leave-behinds.
The idea being that I could leave these items at various locations around Charlotte and that someone might find them, look inside, and be delighted with a small painting or drawing. I would also enclose a QR code that would take them to a song to listen to.
Below are some rough prototypes of what I’ve been working on.
For the materials, I wanted to leverage as many used items as possible, so these are mostly created with materials I found at Charlotte thrift stores and an excellent creative reuse space called Upcycle Arts.

These are some prototypes I worked on for potential approaches to the art that I would cut down to enclose in the leave-behinds.
